Main Tower
Want to get above it all? All it takes is a ticket (€7.50) an elevator ride, a short staircase climb (term used very loosely) & no fear of heights. ???? I went early on a weekday and it was sublimely quiet with panoramic views that went on for miles and it gave me a completely new perspective of Frankfurt!!! Sound cool ?? Then Main Tower observation deck is definitely your jam ???? Good to know:

Kontrast
I don’t know about you, but I am a huge interior fan!!! I studied interiors along with fashion design back at uni and I’m still obsessed. When I first moved to Frankfurt the first thing I sought out was cool furniture shops. I was determined to fill my house with nice things from local shops and not just from Ikea. A friend told me about Kontrast and so off my family went. I was literally in heaven! Floor after floor of inspiration, colour and amazing pieces for your home. When you head there to have a look, make sure to leave yourself plenty time to explore. Address: Hours:

Liebesdienste Home Interior
Where do you go for interesting Scandinavian products & design? Liebesdienste home interior is your destination for home interiors, plants and good old inspiration. There is no need for another home interior Pinterest board when you have this shop. Goran is absolutely passionate about the products he sources! You can be safe in the knowledge that everything is well thought through and has a specific place in his incredibly well curated store. Liebesdienste Home Interior first began as a small coffee shop stocking a few cool knick knacks for sale. But over time their customers kept asking for more and more cool interior pieces for their homes. So, over the years the shop has grown and evolved into the amazing interior haven that we see today. They not only have the two story interiors shop on Oeder Weg, but a Flower shop right next door, a Wine Shop just down the street and an amazing hair salon (we snuck in for a view, it’s stunning). Luxury handmade scarves - Capitana
Luxurious, high quality and exceptional craftsmanship are just a few of the things that jump to mind when thinking about Capitana and the qualities it stands for. That is to say, Capitana creates the most beautiful luxury handmade scarves and accessories right on our doorstep. Italian shopping in Frankfurt was never so simple! Using only the finest Italian silks Natalie hand makes each individual piece herself. With a background in tailoring and an eye for detail she mixes and matches textures and colours creating in essence ‘Modern patchwork’ luxury handmade scarves. Stand out, one of a kind, pieces that can elevate any outfit to the next level. Undoubtedly, for each of her collections Natalie leaves nothing to chance, frequently travelling to Italy to hand pick the fabrics from the Italian weavers themselves. Meeting Natalie herself the picture is completed as she oozes effortless style and elegance cementing the ideas and values that her brand stands for. Finally, anyone who knows Kelly knows she love, love, loves an accessory, especially a beautifully designed accessory. So, naturally you’d expect Kelly to have one of these beautiful pieces in her wardrobe and naturally you’d be correct.

o.t.b.t
I’m a sucker for concept stores. I love that I can go in and shop for clothing, gifts and interiors in one store, a one-stop-shop if you will. o.t.b.t. or Off the Beaten Track is a compilation of beautiful unique finds curated by the owner herself, Claudia Markhof. It’s the perfect destination for inspiration, finds for your home and everyday life. They are welcoming and always keen to help in any way possible. Located on Friedberger Landstraße, get yourself a coffee at Hoppenworth and Ploch and then head over to o.b.t.b for some shopping. The perfect combo. Address: Hours:

Hartmud Studio
If you’re an avid coffee drinker and frequent the coffee shops here in Frankfurt, you might have had the pleasure of experiencing the exclusive touch of Hartmud Studio’s ceramics. Nestled in the heart of Frankfurt, Hartmud Studio is the birthplace of unique, handcrafted ceramics that elevate your home’s ambience. Designed and owned by Isabella Zeiß and Jerome Alsoufi. Based in Frankfurt, the pair started Hardmud Studio in 2016, and since then, the company has gone from strength to strength! Each Hartmud Studio piece begins its life on Jerome’s wheel; it is then dipped with care in colour by Isa’s careful hand before it makes its way to their kiln to be ‘fired’ at unimaginable temperatures, allowing it to finally land on your table! As M.F.K. Fisher says, “First we eat, then we do everything else.” indeed, this gives us all the more reason to eat from tableware made with love!? Due to small production numbers and high demand availability of hartmud is limited. They manufacture and sell their wares in batches and launch approximately one new drop per month in their online shop. The restock or release dates are shown in their shop header and announced via Instagram. Good to know:

The Schirn/ Schirnkunsthalle
The Schirn and Minischirn concept is just brilliant in our opinion and we are slightly confused as to why more museums and exhibition halls don’t introduce similar programs. The idea is that with any adult ticket your kids are allowed to enter the Minischirn (for a maximum of 90 minutes – it’s not a substitution for daycare) where they too can explore and learn. Hence leaving you the adult free to explore the exhibitions, with the good knowledge that your children are well taken care of. As a consequence both adult and child have a truly immersive and enjoyable experience! Also, kids develop a positive attitudes cultural activities and museums rather than ideas of boredom, futility and resistance! “The SCHIRN KUNSTHALLE FRANKFURT is one of most important exhibition venues in Europe. Since opening in 1986, it has presented more than 240 exhibitions on around 2,000 m² of floor space and can boast a total of more than 8.8 million visitors. The SCHIRN focuses on art-historical and historico-cultural themes, discourses, and trends from a contemporary perspective. Its range of offers is multifaceted, international, and progressive; it attempts to open up new points of view and to break open traditional patterns of reception. The exhibitions are devoted in equal measure to contemporary stances in art and art of the modern era.” The Schirn continues to to tell powerful stories with some of our favourite exhibits being Fantastic Women, Lee Krasner and Gilbert and George Römerberg Monday Closed website l instagram l facebook Price Guide: admission fee varies depending on the exhibition, € – €€About Schirn in their own words

Palmengarten Frankfurts Botanical Garden
The Botanical Gardens, or rather Palmengarten, is an absolutely wonderful family day out! You can choose to go for a few hours or take your picnic and go for the day. In the heart of Westend, it’s the perfect oasis to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Perhaps even escape to a tropical destination for an hour or two; imagination is not only reserved for little ones! Moreover, there is plenty to keep the horticulturalist in your family entertained for hours! Having said that, there are plenty of activities to keep little people busy, too!! Head to the small lake, hire a row boat or pedal boat and make your way round the water while watching the fish popping up and down. Be sure to avoid the ducks bobbing along! After that, make your way to the Palmen Express for a ride; the train winds its way through the garden (although please manage expectations, it’s only +/- 5 minutes), which takes you to the other side of the garden where you will find a great play area and in the summer months water sprinklers for the kids to run in (so be prepared and take plenty of sunscreen and swim gear! On the premises, you find three restaurants and a kid’s kiosk to fill any rumbling tummies when the time comes.

Grüneburgpark
Grüneburgpark is set in the relaxed neighbourhood of Westend, opposite the Palmengarten. And this glorious expanse of green has plenty of paths that wind their way round the space making it the perfect escape for any joggers, cyclists and skaters wishing to escape the traffic! With the lawns being largely flat it serves as a great place for a multitude of activities such as football, rugby, badminton or just a good old fashion picnic. The large park impressively has 5 different playgrounds catering to children of all ages, allowing mothers a brief moment to breathe before being dragged back to their 20th game of football for the day (oh dear is that only me?)! The park is also home to a Korean garden, a gift in 2005 from South Korea as part of their presentation the year they served as guest of honour for the Frankfurt book fair. To the North West lies a botanical garden separate from that of the Palmengarten which sits across the road. Towering above the enormous plain trees in the distance (which during the summer months provide much needed shade to many a grateful park goer) stands the Europaturm. The Europaturm makes for a great beacon for any of you who are directionally challenged and need a ‘true north’ to make their way out the park ???? Feeling parched or a little peckish? Head over to the Schönhof-Pavillon where you’ll find a few things on offer!

Hafenpark
Hafenpark is in Ostend, right next to the new ECB buildings. At the end of 2012, a skateboard park was added giving parents with kids older than 10 years old something to do(I know parents with older kids have found it difficult finding new and exciting things activities for their older ones!) There are also climbing frames, basketball courts, large green spaces and in the summer months plenty of coffee shops (most are closed for the colder months which seems insane to me, caffeine is how parents (most) survive!) *Good to know

Katha Covers Bed Linen
Rockets, musical instruments, stars, clouds and dancing ducks what more do precious little beings need to have sweet dreams?? Hmmm, 100% cotton and a “Oekotex Standard 100” certificate I believe ???? These covers are super fun, soft and come with zips as apposed to those infuriating buttons that take 100 years to do each time you change your kids linen (depending on where you’re at with potty training will decide just how infuriating!!) We ❤️ that they German based.
Mara Mea
Maren & Dorina take diaper bags, maternity wear and all things baby to a stylish new level…with offices in Berlin you could almost call them local ???? They have designed their product so they can be used for daily use before, during and after the pregnancy and infancy periods. We can get on board with that!“MADE FOR MAMAS – LOVED BY WOMEN”
Konfettiwolke - Kids boutique in Frankfurt
The glorious little kid’s boutique, Konfettiwolke…literally translates to confetti clouds! Just the name puts a silly grin on my face! It makes me think back to my childhood, hours spent looking up at the clouds and making up stories from all the shapes I could see in the sky! Good to know:

Sorry, I digress!! Konfettiwolke is the answer to all (okay, most) of your little people’s needs…clothes, toys, books, gifts, and linen! This shop is a dream for expectant mothers who can still afford to be idealistic, with plenty of beautiful wooden toys to choose from. Unfortunately, as we all know, this idealism eventually ends, and the fight against the invasion and nightmare of cheap plastic toys begins. Konfettiwolke carries a range of great brands: Bobo Choses, Maed for Mini, Mini Rodini, Liewood, Manitober, Fabelab and the list goes on.
