Founder of The Frankfurt Edit, Janice Henry

To give you a little insight into who I am and why I started the Frankfurt edit I’ll first share a few ‘labels’ life has given me!  It should be noted, no one label is more important than another!!   Labels – South African, boy mum, wife, friend, yogi, photographer, coffee addict, global citizen, travel enthusiast and now Founder of the Frankfurt edit!

South Africa and London

Life began for me in the very south of the African continent, South Africa.  After school and university, where I studied Finance at Stellenbosch but probably learnt more about wine, I moved to London.  With barely 2 pennies to rub together (ignorance definitely is bliss) I began an epic adventure in Europe.  And boy was London exciting!  Banking gave me my pay check which in turn made the world my oyster!  Undoubtedly I worked hard but I travelled hard to.  Also it was in London that I met my husband and had my 2 most precious (and challenging) gifts, my boys!  Next we headed to Asia as a family where we lived in India for 4 years.

India

India was an incredible journey for me and a place that allowed me to truly grow as an individual and try accept all aspects of myself.  The good, the bad and the downright awesome 😜.  Undoubtedly India allowed me to truly indulge my passion for travel and photography! Not to mention explore and experience some unique places and things. Equally important, India gave me Yoga.  And this is something I will be forever grateful.  It was in India that I trained as a yoga teacher, and now teach both kids and adults.

Finally Frankfurt

I mentioned the word ‘journey’ earlier and my journey now continues here in Frankfurt and I embrace all it has to show me!

Without a doubt being the founder of the Frankfurt edit has enhanced my life in Frankfurt in ways I cannot begin to fully explain.  Along with keeping me extremely busy I have met extraordinary humans who have shown me great kindness support.  And so it is my goal to try to pay this forward in any way I can both personally and through the Frankfurt edit.

Finally, the beauty about a journey is that there are plenty of places to stop and explore along the way.   So, come along with me for the ride and let me show you a few of my favourites!

P.S.  the images below are me embracing some of my labels!  And whilst they may be in little boxes, I try never to put my real life self in any 🙂
