Bahnhofsviertel, some might say, is in the middle of a ‘revolution’!  Once infamous for its red-light district, it now hosts some of the trendiest bars and restaurants in Frankfurt. With its diverse clientele, it stands out as one of our favourite areas in the city to visit and experience the vibrant nightlife.

Although the city of Frankfurt has taken significant steps to revitalise the main station area (Hauptbahnhof), certain streets still serve as a hub for drug use and prostitution. If you happen upon any ‘extracurricular activity,’ there’s no need to be alarmed. However, if you prefer a less exhilarating environment but still want to explore the area, Kaiserstraße is a relatively safe choice!

Good to know:
  • the Rewe to go on Kaiserstraße is open on a Sunday
  • some fantastic art galleries on Niddastraße
  • check out Plank, Amp, Club Michel, and Bar Shuka.
