Bockenheim is perhaps a little more low key than the likes of Bornheim and Nordend but still with plenty of hip bohemian flavour! Situated to the northwest of Frankfurt's city centre, much of the activity happens along Leipziger Straße, this main street. There you’ll find plenty of coffee shops, restaurants, bars and shopping!

Bockenheimer Warte, a medieval watchtower, is one of the well-known landmarks, along with the U-Bahn entrance made to resemble a subway car bursting through from the earth below (pretty cool, we say)!

Traditionally, the area was central to student life. However, much of the University has since shifted eastward towards Westend. Affordable ‘student housing’, however, has remained a major draw card for Bockenheim and thus attracts a diverse range of residents!
