Frankfurt’s culinary scene just got a whole lot more exciting with the grand opening of Tokygon Frankfurt, a vibrant new restaurant that perfectly blends Japanese and Vietnamese cuisine. Importantly, too, Tokygon is no stranger to the gastronomy world, with an already successful flagship location in Wiesbaden. Tokygon brings its innovative menu and enchanting atmosphere to a city eager for fresh gastronomic experiences.  Located on the border between Bahnhofsviertel and the Innenstadt, Tokygon promises an exciting dining experience, with its grand opening event generating plenty of buzz.

The Vibe

In our opinion, one of the Tokygon Frankfurt’s standout features is its very clever subdivision of space!  Each area is thoughtfully designed to highlight different aspects of Vietnamese and Japanese traditions, marrying together the traditional elements from each culture with a contemporary, urban twist.  What’s more, whilst each space is distinctly its own, the design is such that each space ‘fuses’ beautifully into the next, creating a feeling of continuous flow!

Outside is a large outdoor terrace with dark wood tables and chairs; lanterns are strung overhead, creating a warm glow as the sun slowly settles behind the high-rise buildings.  Moving inside, there are a variety of seating options.  From the slightly elevated and intimate traditional Japanese floor-style seating, where guests can dine at low tables while seated on cushions, to ‘Saigon Gon’, where pretty ornate tiles line the floor, brushed concrete, the walls and simple wooden tables and chairs.  Around the corner, settle into a relaxed living room scene complete with an old-school television that would never hang on a wall!

To complete the feel, soft, ambient lighting enhances the dining experience, with lanterns reminiscent of those found in Hoi An and Kyoto casting a gentle glow over the tables. The colour palette—rich earth tones mixed with vibrant pops of red and gold—adds to the restaurant’s inviting aura.

The Menu

In Short,Tokygon’s menu pays homage to the rich culinary traditions of Vietnam and Japan while simultaneously infusing its dishes with a pinch of “German”.  Featuring dishes that are both familiar and adventurous. Signature items include:

  • Pho Love: Vietnam’s beloved noodle soup served with either entrecôte beef or chicken (there is also a vegan option).
  • Sushi Aburaki: Fresh baby asparagus with Salmon or unagi.
  • Surf and Turf: Perfectly cooked entrecôte and grilled prawns with a BBQ Redwine sauce finished with a healthy portion of veggies

Tokygon caters to all tastes and preferences, offering a range of innovative dishes and traditional favourites. Whether you’re a fan of adventurous fusion cuisine or prefer to stick to traditional dishes, there is something for everyone at Tokygon Frankfurt.
