Chinaski Tagesbar has long been one of our favourite spots in Frankfurt—and for good reason! With its prime location, views over the iconic Alte Oper, and a vibe and menu that never disappoints, how can it not be? However, the venue has undergone a truly striking transformation, complete with a name change and an extensive renovation. Now, from sunrise coffees and breakfast to late-night cocktails and a sharing menu, Chinaski effortlessly transitions through the day.

Chinaski Studio & Bar: The Story

Behind the bold evolution of Chinaski Studio & Bar stands Caroline Vater, a powerhouse entrepreneur who originally made her mark in corporate real estate. Her passion for quality, hospitality and good food has once again shone through in this revamped concept, proving that reinvention can be both daring and seamless. With a vision to elevate the experience beyond the daytime crowd, the new Chinaski fully embraces its evening potential, offering an ambience that suits every occasion, from casual brunches to elegant dinners and lively after-hours drinks.

The Vibe

Like the owner, constantly evolving, Chinaski Studio & Bar, formerly known as Chinaski Tagesbar, has reinvented itself. The playful pastels of the past have given way, for want of a better description, to a more refined and grown-up aesthetic. Deep maroon hues, sophisticated panelled walls, and statement lighting create an intimate yet vibrant atmosphere. A key focus in the redesign was ensuring that the space transitions effortlessly from day to night. So, whether you’re settling into a plush booth for a morning coffee or choosing a spot at the sleek bar for an evening cocktail, the space “shifts” seamlessly and invites you in. Furthermore, a statement wall remains a key design feature, complemented by mounted lights that cast striking patterns, further enhancing the dynamic atmosphere.

The Menu

Mimosa or coffee? Pick your poison or don’t because Chinaski Studio & Bar is perfect for both.

Categorised as an international bistro, the menu at Chinaski Studio & Bar is a tribute to global flavours and culinary craftsmanship. Under the leadership of Chef Jan Hoffman—who initially gained recognition in the vegetarian food scene—the kitchen delivers bold, flavourful dishes designed for sharing. The evening menu spotlights creative small plates meant to be enjoyed together, reinforcing the communal spirit of dining.

But don’t worry, early risers— breakfast offerings are still on the menu. From indulgent breakfast bowls to Chinaski’s signature eggs, morning offerings will still have you spoiled for choice. Also, the eggs remain soft and oozy (as they should be, in our opinion), setting the tone for a perfect start to the day.  And finally, coffee begins brewing from 8 AM, so Chinaski still caters to those who need their caffeine fix before the city wakes up.
