The Frankfurt Zoo makes for an absolutely great day out with the kids! With 450 different species, more than 4,500 individual creatures spread over 11 hectares there is plenty to see and do. Meaning with any luck everyone should be ready for bed when you leave. Moreover the Zoo is situated on the border of Bornheim and Ostend making it fairly central and easy to access.
Things to do at Frankfurt Zoo
There are plenty of things to keep little people and big people alike. Undoubtedly the main reason to visit the zoo is to see the animals. And to make thing even more exciting it might be worth timing your visit around animal feeding times. However, should little ones need a break there is a large playground and plenty of places to buy snacks and things to eat. Also, the petting zoo is worth a visit for a fully immersive and tactile visit.

- The zoo can be easily reached by underground (U6, U7) and tram (line 14)
- Carts and wheelchairs can be hire at the zoo. At the cash desk from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in summer and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in winter. Cart Rental Price: €5 with €20 deposit. Wheelchair: €20 deposit
- Changing tables are available in the toilets just behind the entrance and in the Borgori forest.
