What is Neopolitan Pizza Exactly?
Well, in the most simplistic terms, it’s all about the base, bout the base (you singing the song yet). Sorry, I digress; the three key things to Neopolitan Pizza are tenderness, lightness, and moistness of the crust. The dough has only four ingredients but requires high amounts of hydration followed by at least 24-48 hours of fermentation. Next, the pizza must be cooked at 400 degrees for 90 seconds in a woodfired oven, giving the crust that perfectly heat-kissed and smoky finish.

On the menu, you’ll find beloved classics like the Margherita, where simple tomato, mozzarella, and basil shine in perfect harmony. But if you’re feeling adventurous, HOTSPOT also serves up creative combinations that blend bold, unexpected ingredients—think pistachio cream, mortadella, mozzarella fior di latte and stracciatella finished with fresh pistachio nuts. Every ingredient is selected for quality, with fresh flavours that pop.

Exposed concrete walls give way to glimpses of patterned sections of wall that cleverly reveal the restaurant logo, evoking an abstract world map in my mind’s eye. Soft, luxurious textures balance the roughness with velvet-covered chairs in olive green, mustard yellow and grey. The tables and counters, topped with granite, add a sleek and modern finish. Finally, bright red accents of the logo appear on the wall near the bathrooms, adding a punch of colour and fun, giving the space even more personality and warmth.
The HOTSPOT Pizza Story
HOTSPOT Pizza is the vision of Amar, a veteran of Frankfurt’s hospitality scene. However, after years in the nightlife scene, fatherhood came knocking, and he decided it was time for a change. Trading late-night shifts for the (almost) 9-5 life —because, as every parent can attest, toddlers don’t care if you’ve just crawled into bed at dawn or had enough sleep they will ensure they get your attention.
