“Good vibes only” is the motto on the wall, and clearly, it’s one Chinaski Tagesbar lives by! Staff greet you with a definite bounce in their step and a grin on their face! Lunchtime is always a hive of activity, with everyone from bankers to tourists popping in for a bite to eat. What’s more, find a seat at the window or outside on the curb and admire the iconic Alte Oper across the way.

Chinaski Tagesbar: The Story

We can’t deny how much we love success stories with incredible women at the helm! And we were delighted to learn that behind Chinaski Tagesbar is a passionate and successful woman, Caroline Vater.  Indeed it is her love for adventure, travel and food that inspires the cafe tagesbar we see today. In our view, she has crafted a cafe with an adventurous spirit beautifully balanced with a touch of femininity. Moreover, Chinaski Tagesbar can be heralded as one of the first ‘Instagram-able’ spots in Frankfurt, with each nook and cranny offering visitors a different and noteworthy photo op.

The Vibe

The ambience is both sophisticated and playful, inviting guests to lose themselves in its charm.  Mirrors, murals, and dreamy duck-egg blue adorn the walls. Whilst plush velvet chairs in dusty pink and blue hug marble-topped tables, and a tree adorned with bright pink flowers rises through the floor at the centre of the room.   Unquestionably, it creates a dramatic and fantastical focal point around which the entire space dances!  Hence conjuring images of Mayfair pole celebrations in the mind’s eye.

Outside, the duck egg blue theme continues with metal tables and chairs, providing the perfect setting for lunch and sundowners in the summer months!

The Menu

Mimosa or coffee? Pick your poison. Because Chinaski Tagesbar is perfect for both.  Whilst Chinaski Tagesbar is famous for its pancakes, and for good reason, we might add, it has a host of other dishes worthy of your attention!

Let’s begin with brunch!  It all boils down to the eggs (see what we did there).  And perfectly cooked eggs are NON-NEGOTIABLE.  Whether it’s an Aussie-inspired Smashed Avo brioche or French-Italian Inspired Eggs Florentine, the eggs are paramount to the success of the dish.  And for us, this means soft and oozy.  We weren’t left disappointed.

Next, Lunch!  Indulge in nourishing whole food options while dining out at Chinaski Tagesbar. Their wholesome bowls, from the Salmon Bowl to the Spicy Mexican Bowl and the Buddha Bowl which has a vegan-friendly option.  Indeed, there is something for everyone and we love that you don’t need to completely blow up your clean eating regime dining out here.  Having said that, there are plenty of options for cheat day, too!

Finally, Aperitivo! In our opinion, nothing complements a sundowner quite like a well-thought-out Charcuterie Board. Notably, there is a vegetarian option available for those who prefer to skip the cured meats.
