The Holy Cross was one of the first coffee shops we visited when arrived in Frankfurt. Also, it was here that we (Janice and Kelly) first met. Let’s just say it’s rather ‘Holy’ as we are now my best friends and business partners. However enough about that, let’s talk about their coffee.

The Vibe

A stones throw from the river and on the quieter side of Fahrgasse Straße lies this little gem!  Also, it’s wonderfully close to Römer, Altstadt so you can explore it but not so ‘in it’ that you overrun with tourists.  Moreover, we absolutely love the minimalistic feel and monochromatic colour theme running throughout the space!  Outside, large wooden tables line the pavement and a ‘pearl of wisdom’ with an injection of humour is always on display on the board.

The Coffee Low Down

In short, Holy Cross focus on speciality coffee.  Their intent, to take their patrons on a taste adventure and demonstrate just how different different varieties of coffee can taste.  With this in mind, they implement a rotating roaster concept, working with the best European micro-roasters like La Cabra, Drop Coffee, The Barn, Man versus Maschine to name but a few.

Finally, The Holy Cross Brewing Society believes it is a space where coffee people of all cultures, nations, colour, religion, age and sex meet to have their caffeine fix
